Tim's Daily Work
In a quaint village surrounded by a lush forest, lived a kind-hearted woodcutter named Tim. Every day, Tim would go into the forest to chop wood and bring it back to the village. He was known for his honesty and hard work. One day, while chopping wood near a river, his axe slipped out of his hands and fell into the water.
The Golden Axe
Tim was distressed as he needed his axe for his work. Suddenly, a fairy appeared from the river, holding a shiny golden axe. She asked, "Is this your axe?" Tim looked at the golden axe and said, "No, that's not my axe. Mine was a simple, old one." The fairy smiled at Tim's honesty and dived back into the river.
The Silver Axe
A moment later, the fairy reappeared with a silver axe and asked, "Is this your axe?" Tim again shook his head and said, "No, that's not my axe either." Impressed by Tim's integrity, the fairy dived back into the river one more time.
Tim's Axe Returned
Finally, the fairy emerged with Tim's old, simple axe and handed it to him. "Is this your axe?" she asked. Tim's face lit up with joy as he exclaimed, "Yes, that's my axe! Thank you!" The fairy was so pleased with Tim's honesty that she gave him both the golden and silver axes as a reward for his integrity.
A Lesson for All
Tim returned to the village and shared his story with everyone. The villagers admired his honesty and learned the importance of being truthful. Tim's integrity brought him not only material rewards but also the respect and trust of his community. From that day on, everyone in the village strived to be as honest and kind-hearted as Tim.
